24 Pounds of cherry tomatoes

cherry tomato harvestWhat do you do?  We are lacking in the creativity department at this point with what to do with these things, so we make sauce.  You can never have enough sauce and we make a habit of eating pasta at least once a week so it makes sense right? Jon’s sauce recipie is here…but we have a few others that we have been playing with.  We now have some spicy little chilies that are an exciting addition to spicy chilies in the gardenthe sauce and the oregano and thyme are going crazy with the hot weather lately. Up to this point, we have been freezing the sauce in zip lock bags.  Running out of freezer space so we are trying our hand at canning.  It is a major pain but kind of feels good when you are done and you have done it right!canning home made tomato sauce
